PFAS-contaminated groundwater at the Dane County Regional Airport burn pit site required an effective in-situ remediation strategy in silty sand soils from 12–22 ft bgs.
Site Conditions
Active Facility
Approach
Injected 26,250 gallons of BAM Ultra, PFAS-degrading bacteria, calcium peroxide, and applied electrooxidation through 153 DPT points and 137 electrodes.
Results
Near 100% PFAS reduction achieved at MW-4 within the treatment zone, with sustained reductions at 6 months and measurable downgradient improvements at MW-6 alone.
